WEBER GRILL ACADEMY WITH CHEF TJAART
Chef Tjaart’s braai courses are suitable for all experience levels. The WEBER classes generally run from 3 – 4 hours depending on the course. Throughout the class, you will be shown how to get the most out of your braai, to prepare anything from roasts to sous vide chicken, the ultimate pork crackling to puddings! In-depth tuition in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, will inspire you with the confidence and enthusiasm to really expand your WEBER experience.
Many courses focus on recipes important to Tjaart, showcasing dishes that have been inspired to him from his travels and foodie journey, keeping sustainability and seasonality at the core of it all.
From grilling and roasting to baking and smoking, you’ll be amazed at what you can cook using these simple techniques.

Using Weber’s lid-on technique on both charcoal and gas barbecues, Chef Tjaart will spend two and a half hours teaching you the best way to cook a number of all-time braai classics.
As part of this course you’ll be tasked with creating a part of the classes menu. You will be asked to prepare your own de-boned leg of lamb and be taught how to cut and portion a whole salmon trout. We will also show just one of the many possibilities to expand your braai menu with a demonstration of the famous “beer can chicken.”

This course teaches you how to use the Weber way of cooking to open up a world of possibilities on your braai. As well as covering off key skills such as lighting and temperature control, you’ll be learning how to perfect steaks, roasts, pizzas and even cakes!
Suitable for those who want to learn to cook food other than the standard everyday fayre of wors and chops, the master-class in entertaining shows how to use Weber’s renowned “lid-on” barbecue technique to grill, roast, smoke and bake! During the 4 hours you and your classmates will prepare a variety of different dishes under the guidance of Chef Tjaart. Using a combination of charcoal and gas barbecues you’ll be taught skills from lighting techniques to controlling temperature and knowing when your food is perfectly cooked. You’ll receive a demonstration from the chef on how to cook the perfect steak and we’ll ask you to get hands-on with some dough and create your own stone baked pizza!
