Ingredients

  • 8 Slices Of White Bread
  • Olive Oil
  • 2 Large, Firm, Fleshy Red Tomatoes, Sliced
  • 1 Large Onion, Cut Into Very Thin Slices
  • 16 Basil Leaves
  • 2 Cups Of Cheddar Grated
  • Freshly Ground Coarse Salt And Black Pepper
  • Weber Vegetable Spice

  1. At The Braai
  2. Apply Olive Oil With A Brush On One Side Of Each Slice Of Bread.
  3. Make Four Sandwiches. First, Take Only Four Slices Of Bread And Place Slices Of Tomato, Thin Slices Or Rings Of Onions, Four Basil Leaves Per Slice And Cheese.
  4. Season With Vegetable Spices, Salt And Pepper, Sprinkle With More Olive Oil.
  5. Place The Remaining Four Slices Of Bread On Top, Greased Sides Outwards, And Lightly Press The Sandwiches.
  6. Fry Over Low Heat Until Crispy On One Side. Use A Spatula, Gently Flip And Fry Until Crispy On The Other Side. Serve Immediately.
