Ingredients
- 400 g minced beef, 2 spring onions, 6 tbsp oil, 6 tortillas (Ø15 cm), 60 g cheddar cheese (grated)
- RUB: See SALT, PEPPER, GARLIC RUB recipe
Instructions
PREPARATION:
- Season the minced beef with the 2 tbsp rub. Then shape the meat into 6 equally sized balls.
- 2 Finely chop the spring onions and set aside.
AT THE GRILL:
- Preheat the grill to 230 °C. Then set to 200 °C.
- Place the griddle on the grill. Lightly grease the griddle with oil. Close the lid and preheat for 10 mins.
- Place the balls on the preheated griddle. Immediately after place the tortillas on top of the meat and “smash” the balls flat using a griddle press. The patties should be very flat. Close the lid and leave to sear 1-2 mins.
- Flip the patties so the tortillas are now directly on the griddle. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese and the chopped spring onions on the top of each ball, then close the lid and leave to grill for 1-2 mins.
- Fold the tortillas to a taco shape. Set aside for resting and serving.
