MEALIE PAP

INGREDIENTS

  • 1000 ml of water
  • 250 ml mealie meal or polenta (not instant)
  • 3 ml salt
  • 250 ml canned whole sweet-corn
  • 30 ml butter

IN THE KITCHEN

Step 1
Bring the water and salt to the boil in a heavy based pan, pour in the mealie meal and whisk well.

Step 2
Once boiling cook for a few minutes then turn down and cover with a well fitting lid. Cook very slowly for about 30 minutes, stirring from time to time. The mixture should be very thick.

Step 3
Stir in sweet-corn and butter and stir again. Keep warm until required.
